Terms of Service

1.THE BASICS

You must be 13 or older to use Farang. Farang requires an account, so using the app means agreeing to these terms. The everyday tools (maps, translation, currency, visa countdown) keep their data on your device; the community features (forum, groups, events, direct messages) store data on our servers.

2.YOUR ACCOUNT

You sign in with Apple, Google, or a valid email, and choose a display name during onboarding. Don't impersonate another person, don't share your account, and don't create multiple accounts to evade enforcement actions. You can delete your account any time from Profile > Account > Delete account.

3.COMMUNITY RULES

Farang has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. Violations result in content removal and may result in account termination.

The community spaces (forum, groups, events, direct messages) are a place to ask real questions and get real answers about living in Thailand. The following content is prohibited and will be removed:

• Harassment, bullying, threats, or targeted attacks on any person or group
• Hate speech against any race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or nationality
• Sexual content, especially anything involving minors
• Graphic violence or content glorifying violence
• Content promoting self-harm or instructions that endanger others
• Spam, scams, paid promotions disguised as posts, repeated identical posts
• Impersonation of other users, public figures, or Farang staff
• Sharing private personal information about others without consent
• Illegal content under Thai or international law

4.HOW MODERATION WORKS

We run automated content moderation (OpenAI's moderation API) on every forum post, reply, group post, event description, and direct message before it is published. Content flagged by the automated filter is rejected and never goes live.

You can report any post, reply, or user that you believe violates these rules using the Report option in the context menu (long-press on a card). Reports are reviewed within 24 hours by a human moderator. We may remove content, warn the user, or terminate accounts at our sole discretion.

You can block any user using the Block option in the context menu. Blocked users' content disappears from your feed across all your devices.

5.YOUR CONTENT

You retain ownership of what you post. By posting, you grant Farang a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display your content within the app and to other users in accordance with these terms.

We may remove content at any time without notice if it violates these rules or applicable law.

6.PRIVACY

We collect the minimum needed to run the service: your email address, your display name, and your community activity (forum posts, replies, group memberships and posts, events and RSVPs, direct messages, reports, and blocks). See our Privacy Policy at farangapp.com/privacy for details.

7.SUBSCRIPTIONS

Farang Pro is an optional subscription. Everyday use of the app is free, including a daily allowance of voice & camera translations and place searches. Farang Pro removes those daily limits (unlimited voice & camera translation and unlimited place search), adds the UV index and extra weather detail, gives you the Pro verified badge on your profile, and supports a small independent app so it can stay ad-free.

Pricing: $3.99/month or $29.99/year (USD; local equivalents apply). All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store and billed to your Apple ID.

Auto-renewal: subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Manage or cancel anytime in iOS Settings > your Apple ID > Subscriptions.

Free trial: a free trial may be offered to new subscribers. If you don't cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will start and the standard rate will apply.

Refunds are handled by Apple per their App Store policy.

8.NO ADVERTISING, NO TRACKING

Farang has no ads. We don't use third-party analytics, tracking SDKs, or pixels. We do not sell or share your data with advertisers. You are not the product.

9.YOUR RIGHTS & ACCOUNT DELETION

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time using any of these paths:

• In-app: Profile > Account > Delete account.
• Web: use the account deletion page at farangapp.com/delete-account.
• Email: write to Aunty@farangapp.com with subject "Delete account request".

We will complete the deletion within 30 days and confirm by email. See our Privacy Policy for full details on what is deleted and what may be retained.

10.TERMINATION

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these rules, abuse the service, or use it for illegal purposes. You may stop using Farang and delete your account at any time.

11.DISCLAIMER & NO LEGAL ADVICE

Farang is a travel helper, not a source of truth. Map data, POI listings, translations, visa day counts, Schengen calculations, currency rates, and business info can be wrong, out of date, or missing. Always confirm anything important before acting on it.

They are not legal advice and are not a substitute for official immigration guidance. Immigration rules change frequently and vary by nationality and circumstance. Before making any decision about your stay, entry, exit, extension, or overstay, confirm the current rules with the relevant immigration authority, your embassy, or a licensed visa agent. You are solely responsible for your own immigration compliance.

No warranty. Farang is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Upscale PPC Limited is not liable for any loss, penalty, fine, denied entry, overstay, or other damages arising from your use of, or reliance on, the app or its visa information.
