Most of what reaches us is one of the six things below, and every one of them you can settle yourself in under a minute.
I paid for Pro and the app does not show it
Farang Pro is sold and billed by Apple, not by us, so the record of it lives in your Apple account. Check it in iOS Settings, your name at the top, Subscriptions. If Farang is listed and active there, open the app and use Restore Purchases on the Pro screen, making sure you are signed in with the same Apple ID that made the purchase. That is the fix, and it is instant.
Refunds are handled by Apple under their App Store policy. We cannot issue one for them, and asking Apple directly is faster than asking us to ask Apple.
Cancelling Farang Pro
Four taps, and you never need us for it:
Open iOS Settings.
Tap your name at the top.
Tap Subscriptions.
Tap Farang, then Cancel Subscription.
Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date, or that period bills. You keep Pro until the end of the period you have already paid for. The full wording is in the Terms of Service.
Deleting your account
In the app: Profile > Account > Delete account. On the web: farangapp.com/delete-account. Either way the data is removed within 30 days and we confirm by email.
Deleting the account does not cancel a Pro subscription. Apple bills that separately, so cancel it first using the four taps above.
The map works offline, the rest does not
The city maps and all their place categories are downloaded to the phone and keep working with no signal at all. That is the design premise, not a fallback.
Anything live needs a connection: chat, groups, activities, presence, currency rates and weather. If those look empty on a plane or a dead eSIM, that is expected behaviour rather than a fault.
Visa countdowns are a convenience tool
The countdown, the timeline and the reminders are there so you do not have to keep the arithmetic in your head. They are not legal advice and they are not an immigration record.
Immigration rules change, and they change without telling an app. Verify anything that matters with the immigration office or the embassy that issued your visa before you act on it.
What we store, and what never leaves the phone
Farang needs an account. The everyday tools keep their data on your device; the community features store that data on our servers. Which is which is set out line by line in the Privacy Policy.
Farang is iPhone only today
There is no Android build and no web app. If that is what you were about to write in about, it is a known ask rather than a bug you have found. You are still welcome to send it, and you are welcome to say which phone you are on.
Farang is published by Upscale PPC Limited, a company registered in Hong Kong SAR at Rm B, 11/F, Yam Tze Commercial Building, 23 Thomson Road, Wan Chai.
